Lynsey and Beau had a bee-autiful fall wedding at the Historic Hanover Tavern in Hanover County. I was so excited to see it featured in this month's Winter/Spring 2018 issue of Richmond Weddings Magazine!
The beautifully restored historic tavern was an ideal venue for these history buffs. Lynsey, an archeologist (how cool is that!!!) and Beau (a beekeeper) had a bee theme carried throughout the day of their intimate wedding ceremony and reception.
Like many of my couples, I didn't meet Lynsey and Beau until their wedding day. When I saw Lynsey, oh what a beauty! With her piercing blue eyes and dark hair she was a stunning bride. Lynsey’s gown, from Tiffany’s Bridal, was "Marilyn Monroe-esque" as she put it. And her flawless makeup by Phawn Lane of The Beauty Lane matched her effortless and classic elegance.
It was great that the Tavern could accommodate both couple's getting ready there without seeing each other, their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception!
The couple kept things simple and meaningful. For their rings, they selected a custom design from local Jewelers Nine Roses Jewelers in Carytown. The wedding invitations were from Etsy. And the officiant was a friend of Lynsey's!
Looking back over the images, I just adore Beau’s expressions. One of my favorite is the look on his face when he first saw Lynsey getting ready to walk down the aisle - he was clearly excited!
Following the ceremony, I got to have fun with the couple at The Hanover County Courthouse which is across the street from the Tavern. The photos were reminiscent of a high fashion style wedding. Turns out the doctor (Beau's actual day job) and his bride are also quite funny! The had me in stitches with their poses at the Old Stone Jail at the Courthouse Complex, and their Treaty of Versailles pose.
The couple's low key reception was full of friends and family that the couple didn't get to see very often. The night was full of laughter, a little bit of dancing and in lieu of a cake, they had a "cookie table with several varieties augmented with family and friends bringing a dozen of their own favorite recipes."
I am so thankful to Lynsey and Beau for allowing me to be a part of this special milestone in their lives; in the spirit of The Princess Bride, may you live "happily ever after."
