New York native Hunter Henkel has been photographing news, wedding, event, and portrait photography in the Richmond area for over a decade. At an early age she was introduced to a variety of cultures; she is the daughter of a Panamanian immigrant, and has lived and traveled throughout the United States, Central America, Caribbean, Africa, and Europe. She embraces diversity and learning about different cultures and enjoys capturing her observations and life lessons through her camera. Hunter received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to receive a Diploma in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. While pursuing her education, she began photographing editorial assignments for clients which have included Media General, Inc. and its subsidiaries, The Associated Press, and Style Weekly Magazine. Today she stays busy photographing assignments for editorial, corporate, domestic and international wedding clients and non-profit organizations.
